I am determined to get more organized for the next school year. I am starting by looking for the perfect binder and have decided that in order to get it done right, I am going to have to make one myself. I have made several teacher binders at my Teachers Pay Teachers store, but I need to tweak those even more. I am an itinerant teacher that works with Deaf/Hard of Hearing children from the ages of 3 through high school, so some of my paperwork is specialized.

This post is super short because my mother in law fell and is not doing well in ICU. We are exhausted and my brain is not working well. But I wanted to encourage others with a Monday Freebie. It is the weekly calendar portion of my binders, and it covers two pages. It has a section for morning, afternoon, personal and notes. I added a little color, but not so much that it will eat up all the ink. Please click on the picture below to enjoy!
I have decided that if I tell one, I want to blog it so I will remember it and perhaps make a great book for my girls. These will be random but entertaining. Today I told someone the story about trying to get through Customs after a cruise.

This was right before passports became a requirement and you only needed a birth certificate. On the last night one of my twin girls (who were 10 years old at the time) spilled coke on the birth certificates and they became glued together. I mean it was like trying to peel a cheap sticker off of your windshield. Megan's was in plain sight but you could not see any of Katie's. I was a little worried, but thought surely there won't be any problem. They're identical twins after all. Well...

When we arrived at Customs, I plopped down the birth certificates in front of the official and said, "I'm sure this has happened before." I explained the situation with the coke and demonstrated how trying to peel back the paper only made it worse. He was not amused. "No, this has never happened before." (A running theme in my life, you will discover.) He grumpily called an even grumpier man and they separated us. As the grumpier man was questioning me, I could here what was going on in the office where they had placed Katie. I heard the big grumpy officer with a gun almost yell at her "Where were you born?" Then Katie's sweet little high pitch voice said, "I don't know -- in a hospital?" At that time both of the officers laughed and let us through without any more drama. We have cruised a couple of times since then, but I still get nervous about going through customs.Melissahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00089233222406782821noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8398664757463932702.post-21603665600188565442016-05-16T04:03:00.000-07:002016-05-16T04:03:37.212-07:00It's Movie Time! I have never done anything like this before and there will be a lot of established companies (ever heard of Abeka?) there. Here I come with my little table of goodies. I'll be sure to let you know how it turns out.

I was so blessed to be able to homeschool my twin girls during two periods of their life. They were both special needs failing first grade and non-readers, so my husband and I decided I should take a year off of teaching other children and work with my own. We went against the popular public school course of study, and focused on only reading, writing, and 'rithmatic. I think we averaged reading 2 1/2 hours a day. By Christmas they were above grade level so we added science and social studies. That is the advantage of homeschooling - you can really individualize your instruction and make the biggest impact in the shortest amount of time.

Fast forward to the second time, middle school. They were struggling some academically, but I was more concerned about the influences of peers during middle school. This is where I have seen so many children flail and not make it back to the "good" side and I did not want to risk it with my children. They weren't too excited about our decision at first but finally accepted it as we moved from 6th to 8th grade. We put them back in public school for high school in Colorado Springs, and they had the most amazing Special Education staff. My girls are now in their second year of college and doing great! I know homeschooling is a very personal choice, but I know it was the best thing at times for our family.

Both daughters have thanked me for homeschooling them, especially during middle school. They both said they plan to do the same. When that time comes, I hope they are close enough that I can at least be their substitute teacher!

In honor of those hard working homeschool moms, I have made a binder that will be a tremendous resource. It includes the basic school stuff (lesson plan templates, long range goal templates, technology lists, etc.), but it also includes things we moms need to make our lives easier (chore charts, Bible study templates, to do lists, menu planners, etc.) It is for sale in my Teachers Pay Teachers store, but I have a sample that you can download for free here. Just click on a picture below to get your free download!
I give presentations and people actually clap. I often find myself the one who re-explains something to a class so they can grasp a difficult concept. I actually take pride in how parents feel comfortable reaching out to me. And yet...

I was thinking back to a time I taught first grade at the Arkansas School for the Deaf. I was known as the crafty teacher where scissors and glue were a staple at our table. We were cutting out a project when one of my girls dropped her scissors and went under the table to get it. She was taking a while, so another girl signed "I'll help," and went under the table as well. I was distracted by other students so it took a while before I noticed they had both been under the table for a long time. Too long. Swallowing my anxiety I bent to look under the table.

Before I continue this story, you need to understand that the first little girl had beautiful blonde hair that had never been cut. It went to her seat. It was always perfectly groomed and shimmered gloriously in the sunlight. I think you may know where I am going with this...

I looked under the table and saw four terrified eyes looking back at me. Girl #2 had the fallen pair of scissors, but she also had a handful of beautiful blonde hair. It had been cut to the scalp right in the middle of Girl #1's forehead!

There is no Hallmark card for this, and they certainly didn't teach me how to handle this in college! I tried to call the mother, but thankfully she did not answer. I took the coward's way out and wrote a note to send home. Attached to the note was a baggie full of hair. I don't think I slept that night waiting for a phone call from an irate mother. It never came. The little girl came to school the next day with the cutest, very short set of bangs to accentuate her long hair. Her mother never brought the situation up, even when we met several times face to face. I sure didn't bring it up. That little girl is now a teacher of the Deaf herself and she and her mother still keep in contact with me through Facebook.

I don't know why that story came to me so strongly this week, but it reminded me of the importance of keeping communication between school and home as open as possible. To help with that, I made today's Monday Freebie!

I'm taking a break from the nursery rhymes this week to present a huge packet I have been working on. It's primarily for 1st and 2nd graders who need some reminders for their Language skills. Earlier I made a Math Journal (you can click here to get 20 or so free pages from an earlier post) that my students would refer to again and again. I love the independence it gave my kiddos, so I wanted to expand that to their grammar.

Here are a few journal covers...
I came back so refreshed and with a new drive to finish the school year strong. I also had time to finish this week's nursery rhyme, Three Little Kittens. Here are some books to go with this unit found on Amazon.

My unit has some great ideas that you can purchase at the bottom of this post. For now, though, I want to share some fun things I found on the internet to go with your unit.

You can practice fine motor skills by following this link.

I know Friday Freebies are the norm, but if you are like me, I need the pick me up more at the beginning of the week. This week is my Spring Break, and I am in Nashville visiting family. My dad's house has spotty internet service at best, so I wasn't able to get this online until today.

I also said I would do Three Little Kittens Lost Their Mittens, and then happily started working on Baa Baa Black Sheep, so that is what I'll share today. If you need to find some books to go with this unit, check out the books below! All of my units have two mini books and a variety of activities, but I still love going through the internet to see all the creative ideas others have that I can put to good use. I always start with reading, so here are a couple of great options:

So many children, and sometimes I am so overwhelmed I don't know what to do. That is why I love organized units ready to go. This series on nursery rhymes has been so much fun to make. I have a wonderful unit at my Teachers Pay Teachers store, but I also love finding things on the internet to go with the unit. I've done the research for you and found working links of great ideas to use in the classroom. I hope you enjoy these ideas while you wait for next week's installment - Three Little Kittens Lost Their Mittens!

To start, I found some great books to go along with this unit. Look for them in your library, or you can find them here:

It has soooo many things to teach in language arts, math and science. I have a complete unit in my Teachers Pay Teachers store that includes a full week of lesson plans with books and activities. It's a great resource, but I found a lot of things online that I had to share as well! To start, here are a couple of books you can buy that would add to your classroom library. Be sure to come back next week when we will cover There Was an Woman Who Lived In a Shoe.

For today, I want to introduce my Humpty Dumpty unit.

My last lesson post was about 6 months ago. I knew summer would be difficult, but I had no idea how long it would take for me to get back into the swing of things! Long story short, we moved across the country, sent my two children off to college, and moved in my elderly mother in law with dementia. I am still struggling with thyroid cancer, and of course I started a new job as well, which I love. Hopefully I will have some sense of routine.

In the spirit of fresh starts, I am excited to announce a new series...Nursery Rhymes! I work with children of all ages, but I have to admit I am having the most fun right now with a 4 year old hearing impaired student. We are secretly learning so much while she is playing. What can you learn from Nursery Rhymes?

Nursery Rhymes often have all the elements of a full story, but perfect for those with shorter attention spans. There are settings, characters, problems, solutions and climaxes.

You can ask comprehension questions ("What happened to Humpty Dumpty?" "Who tried to put him together again?" "Where was Humpty Dumpty sitting?")

Nursery Rhymes are perfect to introduce sequencing. The stories are much shorter and easier to put back in the correct order, a necessary skill for later.

Nursery Rhymes often have math in them. "Three Blind Mice" and "Hickory Dickory Dock" are two good examples.

Vocabulary is certainly improved when children learn Nursery Rhymes. Where else are they going to hear "the little dog laughed to see such sport" and " it's fleece was white as snow"?

The rhyme, rhythm and repetition give foundational skills to help with reading fluency later.

Nursery Rhymes are just plain fun! You can trick your students into learning all day and they will never know how hard they worked!

The first Nursery Rhyme we focused on was Humpty Dumpty. Looking back I do wished I had saved it for the Easter or Spring time to incorporate egg decorating, so that may be something you want to consider.

Next week I will be unveiling tons of ideas for Humpty Dumpty. Today I am starting with a FREEBIE UNIT, Jack Be Nimble.

This cute candlestick craft is on a website in another language, but there are many pictures that make it easy to follow. (I am not sure about the clothespin, though, so I am planning on leaving that out!)

Drumroll for my personal favorite! This Sesame Street classic has a hippy Jack running under, around, and everywhere except over the candlestick. Great way to expose kiddos to positions!

Enjoy!

How fun! I was asked to think about my homeschooling views, and give teacher tips for struggling learners. I gave this a lot of thought, so I thought I would share it with you. And a big thank you to Bekki at A Better Way to Homeschool for the opportunity! Here goes...

<span style="mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman";">I have always known I would be a teacher. I remember lining up my dolls and stuffed
animals as a child and diligently teaching them their ABCs every Saturday. While others worried about their career
paths, I had an inner calm already knowing my purpose. And I was right. Twenty years out of college I can look back
and see the many students whose lives I touched. More importantly, so many of them touched
me. I have worked with infants through
college, Deaf Education, Special Education, and Regular Education. I have had students that are adults now find
me on Facebook and tell me how much I helped them. Several have become teachers themselves and
give me some credit for making that decision.
And yet…

<span style="mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman";">Without a doubt the students I loved teaching the most are
my own twin daughters, now age 19. They
are one week from graduating high school and I couldn’t be more proud. They both have learning disabilities, so
school was a long hard battle for them as well as me. Their first grade teacher said Megan and
Katie needed to repeat that grade, so they did.
With me. I homeschooled them to
the dismay of several public school teacher friends. We did not follow the typical public or
private school curriculum. I saw how
they learned. I knew where the gaps were
and decided to focus on that alone. We
did reading, ‘riting, and ‘rithmatic, with an emphasis on reading. By the end of the semester, Megan, who
entered homeschool as a non-reader, was now reading on a second grade
level. We had gained two and a half years
in one semester. Talk about miracles!

<span style="mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman";">The next time we decided to homeschool was during the
terrifying Middle School years. I took a
break from teaching other students to focus on my own. We had the joy of homeschooling 6th
– 8th grades. There were many
reasons behind this, but the main one was we wanted to draw them closer to our
family unit. This is such a risky time
when so many choices have life-long consequences, either good or bad. My daughter Katie has since come to me and admitted
that if we had not homeschooled her during middle school, we might very well
had lost her. She has already declared
that she will be doing the same when she has children of her own.

<span style="mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman";">While homeschooling my own children, I pulled so much
information from my training and experience as a professional teacher. I have been on both sides of the tracks. I fully support any family that wants to
homeschool their children. Just as I
heard dismay from public school teachers when I let them know of my plans to
teach at home, I saw the wringing hands of homeschool families when we decided
to put them back in public school. I
have never understood why there are opposite “camps” on this issue. I think that at times there can be a benefit
to both sides. As a professional teacher
I have had the opportunity to try new things with a variety of students and
happily tuck away the successful ones for future use. Here are a few ideas I have used when my
students are struggling.

<span style="mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman";">1.<span style="font-size-adjust: none; font-stretch: normal; font: 7pt/normal "Times New Roman";">
<span style="mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman";"> One of the most difficult skills a good
teacher MUST learn to do is break down information into smaller bites. WE know the information already, but our
children do not. Think from the child’s
perspective. Break the information down
into small steps. Do not go to step two
until they understand step one. This
takes a lot more time, but it is so worth it in the end.

<span style="mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman";">2.<span style="font-size-adjust: none; font-stretch: normal; font: 7pt/normal "Times New Roman";">
<span style="mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman";">Don’t
be afraid of silence. When you ask your
child a question, wait. And wait. Aaaand wait.
The fancy word for this is latency, but the purpose is the same. We already know the information, and the fact
that we were going to ask it. Your child
does not have that knowledge. Plus, if
it is a child who is struggling, they may need longer time to process that
information.

<span style="mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman";">3.<span style="font-size-adjust: none; font-stretch: normal; font: 7pt/normal "Times New Roman";">
<span style="mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman";">Variety
is the spice of life. It is also the
spice to teaching. When you are teaching
something new, talk about it, read about it, youtube about it, make something
about it… Make sure your child has the opportunity to see it, hear it,
visualize it, and experience it. The
more opportunities they have to learn in different ways, the better they will
internalize the information.

<span style="mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman";">4.<span style="font-size-adjust: none; font-stretch: normal; font: 7pt/normal "Times New Roman";">
<span style="mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman";">Wash,
rinse, repeat. Repetition is critical
for a struggling learner. Research has
shown that young readers need to hear a story read to them up to 20 times in
order to internalize it. It’s the same
with any new information. Go back to
information you have already taught and review it from time to time. After you’ve taught the concept, let them
take a turn to be the teacher and explain it to you or a younger sibling.

<span style="mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman";">Random Teacher/Mommy Handwriting Hack:

<span style="mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman";">When you are working with a child that has atrocious
handwriting, try writing what you want them to practice with a yellow
highlighter first. They can copy the
highlighted letters and get a feel for how they move. This will give them more confidence when they
write on their own.

I had to pick up my daughter, Megan, and husband at the airport. They had spent the weekend in South Carolina house-hunting. Before I could get them, however, I had to get the SNOW off of my windshield! How crazy is that?

I have a friend who is going back into teaching after several years off. She is overwhelmed by how to make all of the math and language centers she is going to need, so I decided to help her out. I started by making this cute math matching game for numbers. There are so many ways you could use it.

You could make two copies of each page, cut them out and let the students play Memory with the cards.

Layout cards with a missing number and let the student find the correct number. (Example ___, 4, 5 and have the student search for the 3).

Give them the set of turtles mixed up and have them place them in order.

Make this into a file folder game. Glue the number cards onto the inside of a file folder. Cut out the number words and have the student match them to the numbers attached to the file folder.

This freebie will be part of a packet I plan to make and sell in my Teachers Pay Teachers store. I blinked, and could not believe how many weeks have passed. I think life is finally settling for a little while and it is time to pick this blog back up. We've had serious illnesses in the family, as well as remodeling our house and putting it on the market. If anyone wants a beautiful place to live in Colorado Springs, let me know. We are a military family and our next move is to Columbia, South Carolina. I am excited because we will be much closer to our family and the beach! As spectacular as Colorado is, I am a water girl at heart.

I'm also hoping to get a classroom in South Carolina, which I hope will help this blog with creative ideas. Summer is quickly approaching so I thought I would share a freebie that gives parents as well as teachers a helping hand.

The ideas are all fun but there is real learning involved as well. Research as shown that when students return from summer vacation, they have lost anywhere from one to three months worth of learning (Dr. Harris Cooper, University of Missouri-Columbia). Let's all do our part to keep the students engaged in learning throughout the summer and ready to move on when the school bell rings again! There are ideas for every Monday through Friday in a calendar format. In no way am I expecting you to follow a schedule, it's just a simple way to showcase ideas and help you see how quickly the days are passing. Just click on the picture above for a free download. Enjoy!
Now on to sharing another great freebie from a Teachers Pay Teachers seller. This week we have
Elementary Matters sharing her game Par 3. Inspired by golf, this math game practices adding three addends. It works like Bingo. Directions are included, as well as 3 playing boards. Just click on the picture below to get the free download.
The weather was absolutely gorgeous and I love that we turn out of our street and face Pike's Peak. The snow capped mountains are stunning. We will be leaving them soon and I cannot believe how much I am going to miss them. I am not going to miss the altitude, however. I am back on oxygen for now and hate being trapped by a 50 foot cord. That being said, it does give me some time to work on classroom activities. I am continuing my Anchor Chart activities with a new pack...
These charts have one doubles addition fact on each page. Use this as a classroom tool to go along with the free anchor chart you can find here. Just click on the picture for a free download.
I found a fun activity to go along with this skill at The Kindergarten Smorgasboard. Check it out for some laughs and extra practice!
Melissahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00089233222406782821noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8398664757463932702.post-77106572419228107362015-03-29T22:06:00.003-07:002015-03-29T22:10:56.240-07:00Adding to the Math JournalsFirst I need to apologize for not posting the past two weeks. We had the virus that never ends passed from family member to family member. When I got it, I thought I might die. My husband Wayne (who didn't get it, so we all kind of hate him right now) would poke his head in and ask if I needed anything, I would beg him to shoot me. He wouldn't, so here I am! This stupid bug has a death grip on my ears right now, so I will be going BACK to the doctor again to hopefully get some antibiotics for an ear infection. Then maybe I will feel human again and be able to stay on course with this blog!

If you have been following me from the beginning, (and I thank you!), you know I started with some math journals that were so helpful with my first graders. I have these free fantastic covers you might want to check out if you missed them, and then instructional anchor charts to help build math skills as well as independence. I mentioned I wanted to go further with each of these charts and how I would use them in my classroom and attach a math center game to go with them. So I am starting a new series on adding to the Math Journals. (If you would like to see the twenty or so free math anchor charts, click here).

I am starting with Friends of 10. For a refresher, I will show it below. This anchor chart will be included in the free game pack I will describe in a moment.

with the anchor chart always as a reference, put this anchor chart into their

Kathryn at Teaching Talking has one of the nicest websites I've been to. She let me pick which Interactive Vocabulary packet I wanted to try, and I went with On The Farm. Best. Decision. Ever.

This packet of 5 interactive activities will help you to reinforce theme based vocabulary for PreK & Kindergarten students.
★ Activity 1 – A fun craftivity and foldable
★ Activity 2 – Foldable Mini Books
★ Activity 3 – Write the Room
★ Activity 4 – Counting Syllables
★ Activity 5 – Interactive vocabulary scene (use for barrier games, following directions etc.)
The first 4 activities focus on 8 key vocabulary terms. The 5th activity allows extension work for more able students.
********************************************************
♥ All activities are available in color and blacklines.

I work one on one with a hearing impaired preschool student, and this packet has given me many days worth of engaging learning to do with this child. It is colorful and has lots of different things for the students to manipulate. I will admit that I would probably do all of the cutting if I had an entire class of students, but the foldable book is precious and my little cutie wanted to read it to me again and again. I plan to use the Interactive Vocabulary Scene with her next week with a focus on positional words. That is another great thing about this product. It really lends itself to differentiated learning. I have been impressed with this set and plan to go back for more.

If you would like more information about this product, simply click on the picture above and it will send you the Teaching Talking website!

Enjoy!
I just did a Makeover on my Makeover for this blog. Seriously, last Monday I was so excited about this improvement...

And it was a big improvement. But I'm like an addict now, so I worked for hours (I'm NOT going to say how many) on my new header. I. Can't. Stop. But enough of my first world problems. I am ready to share this Monday's Freebie. In honor of St. Patrick's Day (Honestly, do you know the history behind it? It's pretty amazing.), I am saving America's classroom children from the pain and humiliation of pinching.

These "No Pinching" bracelets can simply be taped around the wrists of the students that forgot to wear green. Now there should be no tears and bruises from that tradition. You are very welcome. Simply click on the picture above to get your free download. There is also a black and white page if you need it, just color it in.

For some of the older students, they may appreciate some funny St. Paddy's Day jokes. I cannot write or tell a joke to save my life, so these are not from me. They are from the Happy Home Fairy and she has so many creative Saint Patrick's Day ideas, you need to check out her blog! For now, enjoy the joke page.

What do you think? Leave a comment below with your email address through Monday, March 2 only, and I will send you one item of your choice from my TPT store for FREE! How's that for a Monday freebie!

Why am I giving so much away? My twin daughters turned 19 today and I wanted to do something in their honor. They are AMAZING, and I'm not just saying it because I'm their mom. At the very impressionable age of 14 they had to deal with their dad overseas fighting in a war, their mom fighting a debilitating cancer, and a widowed older grandmother moving in while recovering from serious heart surgery. With all of that on their shoulders, there were two options. Give up and rebel, or grow up an excel. They chose the latter and are two of the most compassionate, funny, mature 19 year olds I know.

I normally don't post their pictures, but I have to brag. On top of everything, they are gorgeous!

This is Megan. My firstborn. She is hysterical and loves to laugh. Her compassion runs deep and she works so hard to make everyone around her happy. I could go on and on, but I will save it for a different time.

And my Katie. Excuse me, Kathleen. She arrived one minute after her sister. I gotta tell you, this one is going places. She is creative and spunky with a tender heart all rolled into one.

I put a cute Counting Flies to Ten in my store. It's a quick center that only costs $1.00. I made a companion worksheet for it to put here. It also works well as a stand alone practice sheet. So here is this week's Monday Freebie!
My mom had a friend who was a teacher, and at the end of the school year she gave me her used attendance and gradebook that still had a few blank pages in the back. That was one of the best gifts I ever received! I dutifully lined up all of my dolls and stuffed animals and entered their names in the gradebook. Pepper, Snuggles, Big Ben, and Sunshine all had their grades and tardies meticulously recorded, and I held school religiously throughout that summer. I am one of the lucky ones. I knew what I wanted to be when I grew up and my dream became my passionate reality.

In that same spirit, I made a precious packet of "When I Grow Up" for my Teachers Pay Teacher store. I do not want this blog to turn into one giant commercial of products, but I did want to make a companion product here for free. That leads us into today's Monday Freebie...

Flowers? No. Chocolate? No. Candy? He knows better. This year I am asking for silverware! As a military family, we move all the time and I do not know why, but Christmas ornaments and silverware never make it unscathed. We are down to mostly salad forks and even then I have to wash some by hand before dinnertime.

On to today's Monday Freebie. I have so much fun making holiday centers because it brings something new to the class. Today I have a quick shape matching center. Simply print, laminate, and cut and you are ready to go! This is both in color as well as black and white. Just click on the picture below to get your free download! If you have time, please share your Valentine wishes in the comments below. I'm looking for ideas for next year!
I try to get my Monday freebies out earlier in the day, but there was a terrible car wreck on our street. A car slammed into a utility pole that, of course, disrupted internet service. It's back on, and I can now present today's Monday Freebie!

Ta Da! This one helps students practice numbers, number words, place value, and expanded notation through the number 50.

The actual PDF is much clearer. Just print, laminate, and cut out the pieces. The students will match the ice cream scoops to the cones. Of course you can leave out certain scoops for certain students -- I love it when centers can be differentiated. This is a skill the students really need to practice in order to internalize. The cherry is optional, of course, but that seems to be the favorite part! If you would like a free download, simply click on the top picture and enjoy!

Now for my Monday Freebie from Teachers Pay Teachers. Eugenia's Learning Tools has a cute Winter Freebie with 2 separate Graphic Organizers. They are engaging and perfect to help students break down their thinking into manageable pieces. I actually thought of taking the snowman to help organize some of my blogging ideas! Be sure to click on the picture below to grab this freebie while it's cold!

I have struggled against, and WON, two different types of cancer. This week I had a follow up test on thyroid cancer. You never know how important a thyroid is until it's gone. For this test I had to get two shots to make the medication that helps substitute my thyroid inactive. This means I spent the week with extreme fatigue. I went to work, somehow made it through, then came home and collapsed. I will get the result tomorrow, but I already know it's going to be a good report.

During this down time, I worked on a new freebie I am really excited about. I have made a set of activities to use with the Pre-Primer Sight Words. There are 40 in the list, but I have separated them into 8 different sets. The first set is free! Each set will have 5 words and as the list of words grow, so will the activities.

Here are some fun things in Set 1:

Instead of watches I have seen that are difficult to cut out, I made "bracelets".

Because I want to make Monday a happy day, I started a series last week where I am featuring a free Teachers Pay Teachers product. I love K's Kreations because her freebie is a quick center that is cute and a great review. Simply print, laminate, cut and go. It's a matching number word with the numbers to 20 with a tenframe. Please note it does not include every number between 1 - 20. You should check out her store because she has other great things there as well! Click on the picture below to grab this freebie!
